Just one day

OVERVIEW:

Allyson Healey's life is exactly like her suitcase—packed, planned, ordered. Then on the last day of her three-week post-graduation European tour, she meets Willem. A free-spirited, roving actor, Willem is everything she’s not, and when he invites her to abandon her plans and come to Paris with him, Allyson says yes. This uncharacteristic decision leads to a day of risk and romance, liberation and intimacy: 24 hours that will transform Allyson’s life.

A book about love, heartbreak, travel, identity, and the “accidents” of fate, Just One Day shows us how sometimes in order to get found, you first have to get lost. . . and how often the people we are seeking are much closer than we know.

REVIEW:

Just one day is a story about Allyson, she went to a European tour, a graduation gift from her parents. Allyson is going to attend college in Boston, she is a goody-two-shoes kind of girl and she always obeys her over controlling mother. She has a best friend named Melanie; she’s the opposite of Allyson. Anyway… They went to Europe and they decided to see a street play of Shakespeare’s “As you like it”. She met a guy there named “Willem”, he’s Dutch, and their group plays Shakespeare plays on the streets and they travel to different places.. On the day that Allyson and Melanie were scheduled to go to London, they saw Willem again at the train station and he invited Allyson to go to Paris because she didn’t get a chance to go because of the strikes.. Allyson liked the idea of doing something different so she agreed to go with Willem. And off they go to Paris for just one day…

When I first read this book, I was like “okay, another story about finding love in Paris and etc etc...” how cliché right? Well yes it’s a cliché! The first several chapters were a little draggy and a little predictable. So boy and girl went to Paris, they had some adventures along the way and stuff… They both think that ‘fate’ brought them together and also fate will bring them back together... When I got past the draggy parts, I think that the book was actually pretty good. I love the adventures of Allyson in quest of finding Willem… But did she find Willem?? Haha well… read the book. I’m just going to say that it’s a cliffhanger and the answer would be in the second book “Just one year”. It’s a good book and it’s a little cheesy but it somehow gave me the feels! ;)
