OVERVIEW:
Annie hates running. No matter how far she jogs, she
can't escape the guilt that if she hadn't broken up with Kyle, he might still
be alive. So to honor his memory, she starts preparing for the marathon he
intended to race.
But the training is even more grueling than Annie
could have imagined. Despite her coaching, she's at war with her body, her
mind-and her heart. With every mile that athletic Jeremiah cheers her on, she
grows more conflicted. She wants to run into his arms...and sprint in the
opposite direction. For Annie, opening up to love again may be even more of a
challenge than crossing the finish line.
REVIEW:
Breathe Annie Breath is about an 18 year old high
school senior, Annie, who lost her boyfriend Kyle a year ago. Kyle was supposed
to run in the Country Music Marathon. Annie decided to join the marathon to
honor his late boyfriend Kyle. She trained with Matt, to help her build stamina
and to condition her for the big day. The thing is Annie hates running and exercise
in general, but she is determined to finish the race in memory of Kyle because
she blames herself for Kyle’s death. During training she met Jeremiah; he is
her trainer’s brother (Matt). The attractions between them are mutual but Annie
is scared to go through the pain of losing someone again…
I ENJOYED this book a lot!!! In a way I can see
myself in Annie, we both hate exercise and running. The only exercise that I
know is getting up from the couch to get potato chips in the kitchen. She also
likes to read books and watch old sappy movies like Titanic and A walk to
remember… The characters are easy to love, they all play roles that complement
each other and it gets the story going wonderfully.
Annie is your typical teenager,
she works while at school, she had a falling out with old besties, heartbreak,
going to college and finding her identity and her purpose.
I recommend this book to everyone; it’s not really a
chick book. This book has a lot of heart and a very good story that will touch
emotions that you never knew you had.. haha ok! That was a little exaggerated
;) I was just trying to say that this book is wonderful and give it a try.
